Christmas Celebration 2011

Each year I try to be imaginative and ... creative when it comes to Christmas gifts. This year, I was brilliant! I usually give the kiddos a small, $10 gift card or something. This year, along with a few packages (paper for Josephine to tear :-)) I gave them some cold, hard, cash.

Travers had a McDonald's cup while Josephine & Richard had Java Loft cups. Inside each cup was a coil of $25 in ones.

A slit was cut into the side of the mug, the money inserted from the top, and the lid firmly placed on top. A tab marked "PULL" was protruding from the slit.

Each of them was handed their respective cups and they figured out the rest on their own. :-)

Yes, it was fun to watch them. As you can see from the picture above, Josephine & Richard just kept pulling and pulling and... well, you get the idea.

Travers asked me how long it took me to tape the money together and roll it into the cup. He appreciated the effort and enjoyed it. Both my kiddos were asking where I got the idea. Can't I be naturally creative?? :-) It's not always the gift,

it's the thought and creativity that go into the gift.

For the record, Oliver received no money. He did get a Pittsburgh Steeler sleeper!
