Baby Blanket

Right after Josephine and Richard lost Kiwi, I spied this blanket at Hobby Lobby. It was all crossstitch but I knew Jo loves cute, cartoonish frogs so I grabbed it. I've been working on it for months, literally. The design is 2 frogs in the middle with a baby frog at the top and another at the bottom.
The top baby frog had a sailor hat. The bottom one was supposed to have a blue, Superman style cape. I changed the blue to shades of pink. Now it's Supergirl Frog!

I still have to finish Supergirl Frog, 2 dragonflies near the bottom and some detail stitches. Another week, and it should be done. Then, I'll have to decide how to do the backing. I have some cute froggy patterened flannel Any ideas how to attach it? I don't want stitches to show through.

Introducing.... Cranberry

Introducing....... CRANBERRY! Taken a few days short of 7 weeks, this is our soon-to-be grandchild. Once he or she explodes into our lives and arms, Cranberry will become know as Porter Travers Reedy or Peyton Kilikina (Hawaiian for "follower of Christ) Reedy.

The due date has been tweaked to Sept 3rd.

After we agreed she would save her minutes and text me, Josephine called me Wednesday morning about 8:00 a.m. my time. I could hear her voice quiver as she told me she was "holding a picture of my baby in my hand" and went on to say she heard it's heartbeat. From what I heard in the background, Richard was moved as well. Seeing their baby, holding the picture in their hands gave the existance of this child a new reality to them.

Now, I ask for your prayers. Ask God for a healthy, full term baby. Be a real nag! We women are good at that. :-)

BTW, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Cranberry's great-grandma. She is such a Godly woman and prayer warrior! Wow!! This baby is blessed as she swaddles this baby in prayers, lifting it up to his/her Heavenly Father. She is one amazing lady!

Also remember to pray for Josephine & Richard as they face some decisions. May they trust God in all things and experience His love and guidance as they look to the future.

I also ask your opinion. Baby Kiwi would have been born Feb 4th. I've thought of a small donation to the March of Dimes in memory of Kiwi. I don't know if it would make Jo & Richard feel better or worse. Any ideas on the subject? Maybe do it and not tell them?

Cranberry

There's a new cranberry about to explode into our lives. Actually, the date is more like
Aug 27th, 2011. Josephine Frances Boeshaar Reedy and our son(in-law) is pregnant. Until we know it's gender, this gift will be called "Cranberry." Josephine called us with the news on
Christmas Eve. She and Richard were trying to keep it quiet until she went to the dr on
Dec. 29th. For now, everything looks good. There will be an ultrasound on Jan 12th
to confirm the due date.

Until Jo begins showing, I don't think it will mean a lot to Travers. For now, it's all kind of abstract. After all, August is a long way away. Travers loves babies and I think he'll be a good, doting uncle. If he treats this baby half as nice as he treats Miss Tess (his dog), the baby will be a spoiled rotten brat.

Please, pray for my daughter and son-in-law. I'm learning one of the greatest gifts I can give this child is my prayers for the future. God and His wonderful love can do more for this child than anything this world can offer.
